Anne Gerety was born on July 3, 1926 in New York, New York, US.   She had two brothers, Peter (an actor) and Liam and a sister, Sadna.

Gerety the wife of actor/director (theatre) Thomas Hill (div c. 1993), former wife of architect Robin Condon (div c. 1953).   Gerety and her brother Peter acted together at Trinity Repertory Theatre Company in Providence, Rhode Island, US and Anne went on to study painting at the Rhode Island School of Design but chose not to graduate, opting to leave school in 1946 for marriage to Mr. Condon and motherhood.  It was only after her divorce in the early 50's from Mr. Condon that she was persuaded to take up acting (by her mother) and so she did.

Anne lived and acted in Portland for a time with her husband Thomas and for a short while with her brother Peter Leo Gerety (an Archbishop), until she moved in 1975.  Gerety and her husband had a son, Nicholas Hill, who was a radio personality/DJ for WFMU.  In the 80's Gerety lived and worked in Dallas, TX

Anne died of a heart attack on October 25, 2003 in Nissequogue, Long Island, New York, US, she was survived by both former husbands, five sons, Nicholas and Timothy (by Thomas Hill) and Christopher, Michael and Richard (by Robin Condon), and six grandchildren.
