Bob
Anderson

Bob Anderson (born Robert J. Anderson) was born on September
15, 1922 in Gosport, Hampshire, England.
Anderson was born into a military family and that was his
first direction, with the Royal Marines. He spent most of the beginning of
World War II in the Mediterranean and was aboard the H.M.S. Coventry when it was
sunk off the north coast of Africa during that time.
Anderson returned from the war to be stationed in Deal, Kent,
England where he studied physical education and became an Olympic athlete
and coach. After living 25 years on the Thames River just outside London,
Anderson and his wife Pearl moved to Canada. Today he is the Canadian
Fencing Association’s Technical Director in Ottawa.
