Chiwetel Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor
(pronounced Chew-i-tel edge-oh-for) was born on July 10, 1974 in Forest Gate,
North West London, UK to Nigerian (from Enugu, formerly the capital of Biafra)
parents, a doctor father and a pharmacist mother.
Ejiofor started acting
when he was only 13 at Dulwich College where he discovered the National Youth
Theatre, he then received a scholarship to LAMDA (The London Academy of Music
and Dramatic Art). He appeared in productions at the Almeida
(formerly run by Ian McDiarmid and connected with Oliver Ford Davies).
Ejiofor currently
divides his time between London and New York.
