[1] In
Part V when Guybrush is riding the roller coaster, go to the diorama of
LeChuck and the torture chamber. If you look at the roller coaster
tracks, you'll notice there's the head of an Indian and a scimitar, much
like the ones in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".
[2] In the beginning of MI3,
Elaine says "Guybrush, I thought I lost you forever!".
In "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" Indy's father says
"Junior, I thought I lost you forever!" when he discovers that
Indy has survived the tank going off the cliff.
[3]
On Skull Island Guybrush says
to the smugglers "That diamond belongs in a museum!"
Indiana Jones says the same thing in the movie "Indiana Jones and
the last crusade". Star
Wars Refs: [1]
When Guybrush wants to go to
Skull Island the ferry man says it is dangerous. Guybrush says "I'm
not afraid!" The ferry man responds with "You will be. You
WILL be! In "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" Luke
Skywalker says "I'm not afraid" and Yoda responds with
"You will be. You WILL be." [2]
In "Star Wars: A new hope" Obi-Wan gets past a guard by using
the force and telling the guard that he doesn't need to see his
identification etc. In MI3 Guybrush tries to use the same trick on the
cabana boy and it almost works. [3]
When Wally talks to Guybrush he says "Aren't you a little short for
a pirate?" In "Star Wars: A new hope" Princess Leia
says to Luke Skywalker "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?"
[4]
Act IV, scene 8 in Slappy Cromwell's theatre play has a line called
"Join me, Rosencrantz! I am your FATHER! In "Star Wars:
The Empire strikes back" Darth Vader says to Luke Skywalker "I
am your FATHER!" [5]
In Part V LeChuck says to Guybrush "It was no mere nightmare,
Guybrush! Search your feelings! You know it to be true!" In
"Star Wars: The Empire strikes back" Darth Vader says to Luke
Skywalker "Search your feeling! You know it to be true!"
This phrase is also used in Monkey Island 2. [6]
When Guybrush is on the grassy
hill and looks on Elaine's fort he says "Funny, the damage doesn't
look as bad from out here. In "Star Wars: A new hope"
3PO says the same thing. [7]
When you tell the voodoo lady "Blood island sounds
dangerous...", eventually, you will get to Guybrush saying
"You're my only Hope!!!", and the voodoo lady says "No.
there is another". In " Star Wars: The empire strikes
back", when Luke Skywalker departs Dagobah, Yoda mind talks to the
spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and when Obi-Wan says "That boy is our
last hope", Yoda says "No. There is Another", referring
to Leia. Leia has also stored a holographic message in R2D2 where
she says "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope".
[8]
When Guybrush eats the snow cone with meringue on, he says "What an
incredible taste I've discovered!". In "Star Wars: A New
Hope", when Luke, Han, Chewbacca, and Leia jumps into the disposal
chute. Han tells Leia "The Garbage chute was a good idea. What an
incredible Smell you have just discovered!"
[9] When Guybrush takes the
tofu mask off, he says "I can barely see out of that
mask". In "Star Wars: A new hope", when Luke
Skywalker and Han Solo are dressed as Storm Troopers, Luke says "I
can't see a thing in this helmet". [10]
When Guybrush is covered with
tar and feathers, he can enter the Barbery Coast and Haggis will yell
"We don't serve yer kind here!" In "Star Wars: A
new hope", when Luke, Obi Wan, R2D2, and C3PO enters the bar, a
bartender says "Hey, we don't serve their kind here!" [11]
You buy a cannon from Kenny
called "The Destructomatic T-47 carnage delivery system, with
auto-loading and fax modem". The "T-47" is a
reference to the Snow speeders used on Hoth [12]
When you first go backstage in
the theater, you can hear a Star Wars song if you listen carefully. [13]
Among the cannons Kenny are
selling you can spot one of the cannons from the Death Star. It's to the
right of the pile of cannonballs. [14]
If you originally choose to do the navigation with the crew's help, but
then tell Haggis you want to do it on your own, and then ask Haggis for
help again, you have to plead. Guybrush offers to fix Haggis up with his
sister, but Haggis isn't interested. You can then say, "She's
rich", to which Haggis replies, "Rich?". This is
similar to a scene in A New Hope, where Luke is trying to persuade Han
to come and rescue Leia (who is Luke's sister, although he doesn't know
that then). To try and persuade him, he says, "She's rich",
and Han plies, "Rich?". [15]
When you look through the crumbling hole in the Goodsoup crypt and get
to the Mêleé Island forest from MI1 for the first time Guybrush says
"It's familiar somehow... just as I've seen it in a dream. Or maybe
it's... uh, I don't know.". It's similar to Luke who said
"It's like something from a dream. Well, I don't know." when
he and R2D2 landed on Dagobah.
[16] The first time you ask
LeChuck about Big Whoop he says "I see...ye do not yet know the
dreadful power that be Big Whoop." This sounds a lot like
Darth Vader's line in "Star Wars," when he says "You do
not yet know the power of the Dark Side."

D
- Day of the Tentacle~1993
- [1] Picture of Darth Vader on a
calendar. [2] Storm trooper helmet on
shelf. [3]At a point in the game you
can buy a $2 million diamond from a home-shopping channel whose number is
1-800-STARWARS. [4] When you use the
'look at' command on the Darth Vader picture calendar the guy says,
"My favorite movie!" [5]
Bernard hits the candy machine with the crowbar, a load of quarters fall
out. Bernard starts reading out the dates, on the third one he says,
"Oooh, 1977" [6]
"Help us Dr. Fred. You're our only
hope"
- Defender~1981

- Detonator Orgun~1991 - [1]
The exhaust of the alien general's mecha,
red. Orgun's is blue. (Vader and Luke's lightsabers,
respectively). [2]
Starfighters shoot out of the narrow tunnel of the alien planet, seconds
ahead of the fireball.
[3]
Two radar dishes on a platform just like the
Imperial platform on Endor in ROTJ, same colors, same trees.
[4] A Darkside speech by the villain to Orgun.
-
Destroy All Humans! 2~2006 -
[1] If you read the mind of the nerd from
Santa Modesta, he will eventually say, "It all started on a Star Trek in
a galaxy far, far away but then they turned out to be damn, dirty apes!
You maniacs." [2] If you read the mind
of one of the hippies, she will say, "The Adventures of Luke Starkiller?
Yeah right! Keep on dreaming, Georgie..."
[3] One of the statues of Arkvoodle says "Only someone with the
body of a ninja and the mind of a Furon will bring balance to the Force,
or something like that." [4] Upon finding
Dr. Go, Crypto says, "I'm Luke...uhh...Crytosporidium and I'm here to
rescue you!" (Thanks to Chris Brown for these game
references!)
- Deus Ex~2000 -

of scum and villainy"
- Duke Nuke 'Em 3-D~1996 - [1]
Secret: Luke Skywalker wears a
Stormtrooper uniform [2] When
you find him (Luke), Duke says, "Now this is a Force to be reckoned
with" [3] In
the cave you can see Indiana Jones, who is impaled up on the cave
wall. Duke says, "We meet again Dr. Jones!" [4]
Grab the Atomic Health Power Up

- Earthbound (Okâsân

- Everything that happens after Ness eats
magic cake is just a trip. The REAL ending (which can only be
unlocked by stealing Yoda's Porsche) takes the three to Branson, MO,
wherein they Enlist JEBEDIAH the ACCOUNTANT to assist them in fighting the
Ninjas (thanks to Furankufuruto Sooseeji for
this reference!)
- Elder Scrolls 3:
Morrowind~2001 - [1] Shows a
village with TIE-fighter helmet-looking huts [2]
a character that looks like a Tusken Raider
- Escape from Monkey
Island~2000 - Star Wars Refs:
[1] When
you are paddling around in the swamp on Lucre Island you can see a
crashed X-Wing. This is a reference to "The Empire Strikes
Back" when Luke Skywalker crashes with his X-Wing in the swamp
where Yoda lives.
[2] When you are talking
to Ozzie you can say "Aren't you the one who was supposed to bring
balance in the force?" Obviously a reference to Star Wars.
[3]
Guybrush is talking to Jo-Jo the monkey and says, "I can't believe
you're a talking monkey" Jo-Jo- says, "That is why you
failed". [4] In
front of the House of Sticks is a stick shaped like a battle droid from
"Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace". [5]
When you get the directions to
Pegnose Pete's house the number of the prosthetics is TK-421. This is a
reference the Star Wars: A New Hope. When Han and Luke are about
to rescue Princess Leia, Han gets a message over his communicator (he's
in a Stormtrooper suit) from an imperial superior and the message is
"TK-421, why aren't you at your post?" [6]
When you get the dark player to
throw darts around the Scumm Bar, Guybrush says "Impressive"
after the dart hits a target. This is similar to when Darth Vader
says "Impressive" to Luke Skywalker. [7]
In Planet Threepwood, 'Elaine' the
waitress at one point states that Guybrush's real parents were Harrison
and Carrie. This is of course a reference to Star Wars. Two of the
main cast were Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia
Organa). [8] When
you talk to Jojo Jr., you can say "I still can't believe that
you're a talking monkey". Jojo replies: "And that is why
you fail". This is exactly what Yoda said to Luke during his
Jedi training on Dagobah in "The Empire Strikes Back".
Yoda lifts up the X-wing from the swamp, and Luke says "I can't
believe it". Yoda replies: "And that is why you
fail". [9]
If you wait awhile outside Meathook's house you can hear a blaster rifle
laser sound in the background music. [10]
When Guybrush looks at the rock in
the cave with the loot, he will say: "What a strangely shaped
stalactite." The rock has the shape of an AT-AT vehicle from
Star Wars. [11]
When Guybrush takes the lava ride in the Church of LeChuck on Monkey
Island, right before his ride leaves the church he says, "I have a
bad feeling about this." Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and
Princess Leia from the first three "Star Wars" movies also say
the same thing. [12]At
the end, while you are fighting with LeChuck, there's a time when JoJo
Jr. says to you: "Trust your feelings Guybrush", just like
Obi-wan Kenobi to Luke in Star Wars: A New Hope. [13]
When you have found out that the Ultimate Insult is on Jambalaya Island
and before you leave Elaine asks if you have forgotten something. You
could say "Oh, I forgot to kiss you goodbye". In Empire
Strikes Back when Han is going to leave the base on Hoth Leia follows
him to convince him to stay but he thought that she followed him because
she wants to kiss him goodbye. [14]
In MI4 when Threepwood asks for Grog and the Barkeep asks for ID you can
reply "You don't need to see no stinking Badge" and Guybrush
waves his hand like Obi-Wan. When the Stormtroopers ask for id
from Luke and Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan waves his hand and replies "You
don't need to see his id". Indiana
Jones Refs: [15]
When you try to let
Guybrush pick up the Melee Town hall he says “(grunt) It won’t budge”.
Indiana Jones often says this same line in the game "Indiana
Jones and the Infernal Machine" when he tries to use or do
something that doesn’t work. (Thanks
to Sander for this information!)

& Sulust (there are of course others in the game, these are the
only Star Wars related passwords)
- Freedom in the
Galaxy~1981 - *BOARD GAME*
Freedom in the Galaxy is an attempt to make
"Star Wars" into a war game. at this it succeeds admirably,
going beyond the thinly veiled "Star Wars" references (Adam
Starlink for Luke Skywalker, Zina Adora for Princess Leia, The Planetary
Stabilizer for the Death Star, etc.) and providing the feel of a sweeping
space opera. As a game, on the other hand, it succeeds on some
levels and fails on others. (Thanks
to Joel Yoder for this reference!)
- Frogger: The
Great Quest~2001 - Exactly like the Dagobah
scene with Luke in the cave. Frogger needs to defeat the "Dark

Frogger's face.

L
- LeChuck's
Revenge: Monkey
Island II~1991 - Indiana Jones Refs: [1]
In the shop on Booty Island
you can buy the original whip used in Indiana Jones and The Raiders of
The Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and
The Last Crusade, and in The Young Chronicles. [2]
When Guybrush steps out of the
box in LeChuck's fortress he says "I hate snakes" You
learn in "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of The Lost Ark" that
Indiana Jones hates snakes. [3]
When you switch the books on governor Phatt's stomach, it is just like a
scene from "Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Ark"
where Indiana Jones switches a gold statue with a bag of dirt. [4]
When Guybrush has blown a hole
in the ground on Dinky Island, he falls onto a pillar. To get over to
another pillar he uses a rope and a crowbar to swing across the cave,
when he does that the theme from Indiana Jones is played.
[5] If you keep saying
"Give me the map and I'll check the gas for you" to Rapp
Scallion, he will eventually respond with "Check the gas and I'll
throw you the whip" In "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of
The Lost Ark" a helper says to Indiana Jones "Throw me the
idol, I'll throw you the whip" Indiana Jones throws him the
idol, but the helper doesn't throw the whip back. [6]
We learn in MI2 that Elaine
has named her dog Guybrush after our hero Guybrush Threepwood.
Another hero is Indiana Jones, who is named after his dog. [7]
Outside Rum Roger's house
Guybrush places a telescope in the hand of a statue that leads a beam of
light to shine on the correct brick to push. This is similar to
the scene in "Raiders of the lost Ark" where Indiana Jones
uses a staff with a crystal to lead a beam of light to show the exact
place to dig. [8]
When Guybrush says the correct numbers to Bruno, he says to Guybrush
that he doesn't recognize him. Guybrush can say "I was transferred
here yesterday, new orders". This is a reference to "Indiana
Jones and the last crusade". Star
Wars Refs: [1]
In the end cut scene at the
carnival Chucky's shirt has "DARTH" written on it. [2]
When Guybrush leaves the governor's mansion, Elaine's
dog starts barking at him and he says: "What's wrong boy? Smell
something?" In "Star Wars: The empire strikes back"
Luke Skywalker says "Hey, steady girl. Hey, what's the matter? You
smell something?" on Hoth right before the Wampa appears. [3]
When Guybrush gets into the
voodoo crate he says "I think there's something moving in
here". In "Star Wars: A new hope" when they are in the
garbage room Luke says "There's something alive in here!" [4]
This is not necessarily an in-joke, but it could be. When Guybrush is
paddling through the swamp he passes a tree that resembles Yoda's home
in the Star Wars saga. Furthermore, the Voodoo Lady lives in a
swamp just like Yoda does. [5]
At the Bloody Lip when
Guybrush shows the bar keeper his temporary library card, the barkeeper
says something like "Pirate eh.. we don't serve yer kind here....
only joking" (if you put your occupation as a pirate on your
card). In " Star Wars: A new hope", when Luke, Obi Wan,
R2D2, and C3PO enter the bar, a bartender says "Hey, we don't serve
their kind here!" [6] If
you say to Governor Phatt that his mansion must have cost a lot, he will
then say that he made a deal to keep the bill collectors out forever -
he's giving you to LeChuck. This is a reference to "Star
Wars: The Empire strikes back", where Lando mentions that he has
made a deal to keep the Empire out of Cloud City forever - he gives Han
Solo, Leia, and Chewie to Darth Vader. [7]
In the end of MI2 when LeChuck
is lying on the floor, missing an arm and a leg, he says "Take my
mask off..." In "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" Darth
Vader is dying and he says to Luke Skywalker "Luke, help me take
this mask off." [8]
When Wally is kidnapped the
voodoo lady says
"I felt a sudden disturbance in the Force...as if a tiny voice
shouted out and then went silent". In "Star Wars: A new
hope" Obi-Wan Kenobi says "I felt a great disturbance in the
Force... as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were
suddenly silenced" when Princess Leia's home planet is being
destroyed. [9]
In the end of MI2 LeChuck says to Guybrush
"I am your brother" Guybrush says "No! No, that's not
true!" and LeChuck says "Search your feelings, you KNOW it to
be true!" In "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back"
Darth Vader says to Luke Skywalker "I am your father" Luke
replies with "No! No, that's not true!" and Darth Vader says
"Search your feelings, you KNOW it to be true!" (Thanks
to Sander for this information!)

double-bladed lightsabers. [2]
After they land, they strike a Maul pose. (Like Ray Park did as
Toad on X-Men 1) (Thanks to John at Obroa-Skai.net
for the references!) The
following shots are from the movie "Secret Agent Clank" (the

- Secret of Monkey Island~1990 -
Indiana Jones
Refs: [1]
I you look at the chalice (the cup) in the Voodoo Lady's house, Guybrush
will say "Now, THIS is the cup of a carpenter". In Indiana
Jones and the last crusade, Indiana Jones says the same thing. [2]
When Fester
Shinetop stops you with the Idol of Many Hands, you can choose to say
"It belongs in a museum!" Indiana Jones says the same thing in
Indiana Jones and the last crusade. [3]
In
the demo of Monkey Island 1, Guybrush can pick up the chalice (the cup)
in the Voodoo Lady's house and he will turn into Indiana Jones for a
moment. [4]
When you open the glowing box on the ghost ship to pick up the root, the
theme from Indiana Jones is played. [5] "text"
When Guybrush steps onboard the ghost ship he can say to the
ghosts: "I've come for interrogate the prisoner".
This is a reference to "Indiana Jones and the last
crusade". [6]
When Guybrush has to get the cooking grease and sees the rat he says
"I hate rats". Just like Indiana Jones says "I hate
snakes". [7]
In
the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", Henry Jones,
Sr., hits Indiana Jones over the head with a vase. He laments, "A
priceless Ming dynasty!" In Elaine's mansion in MI1, when you pick
up the vase and look at it, Guybrush says, "A priceless Ming!"
Star
Wars Refs:
[1]
When Guybrush lands on Monkey Island, Herman says to
him: "Did you come in ship I saw out there? You're braver
than you look". In Star Wars: A New Hope, Princess Leia says
"You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought." about
the Millennium Falcon when she is leaving the Death Star with Luke and
Han.
[2] When
you give the red herring to the troll, he throws his club on the ground.
When he wants to pick it up again he opens his hand and
"attracts" the club, just like Luke Skywalker. [3]
At
the very beginning of Act 2, when Guybrush first walks in to the cabin,
he looks at the screen and says, "I'm Doomed." very
C3P0, "We're Doomed" in Star Wars Eps. 4, 5, and 6. [4]
When
Guybrush talks to Herman Toothrot for the second time, one of the things
he can say is "My name's Guybrush. I'm here to rescue
someone." This is an obvious reference to Luke Skywalker's greeting
to Princess Leia in Star Wars IV: A New Hope "My name's Luke
Skywalker. I'm here to rescue you." (Thanks
to Sander for this info!)

the ability to destroy planets. [4]
Roger has the plans to the Star
Generator. [5]Sariens steal the Star
Generator and blow up Xenon (Alderaan)

Starfox team walks down a hall with soldiers on each side like in
ANH [4] To reach the final boss,
you have to fly down a maze of corridors like in ROTJ.
[5] In the Katina Stage, some of the Cornreian armies' ships look
like some of the ships for the Star Wars Trilogy. [6]
As Fox McCloud's starshi
