Grey DeLisle

Grey DeLisle was born on
August 24, 1972 in Fort Ord (San Diego), California, US, to her truck driver
father, who loved listening to classic country music, and her band
singing mother. It seemed natural and inevitable that DeLisle
would write her first song when she was five years old. Well into her teens and beyond
she continued to write music, sing and was in many bands. She has since put out
three albums.

At one point she pursued
a career in stand-up comedy, she did great impressions. A friend
suggested that she try auditioning for voice work. She did.
DeLisle excelled at voice over work and is now heads above the rest.

DeLisle is married to Old
97's bassist Murry Hammond.

Delisle, with whom you may be familiar from her extremely prolific cartoon
v/o work (including Padmé in the "Star Wars: Clone Wars"
animated series and various SW games), has a new album called "Iron
Flowers" out June 14, on Sugar Hill records. ... With Iron
Flowers, DeLisle, ingests the roots of modern popular music and
elegantly encapsulates them into an original whole ... while crafting a
starkly different record from the last. "I never want to make the
same record twice," DeLisle says. "I'm not interested in
treading the same ground over and over again, even if it means people
might get thrown for a loop on first listen."

sometimes sang with salsa legend Tito Puente; she even made a cameo
appearance at the end of Homewrecker's "Usted," a Latin standard
that Ruth used to sing.
