Ian Gomez

Ian Gomez was born on December 27, 1964 in New York, New York, US, raised in Manhattan with a diverse background, Russian, Puerto Rican, Jewish and Greek Orthodox (Converted).  His father, a Puerto Rican artist and his mother, a dancer from the Bronx.

Gomez didn't start his acting in New York, in fact he was the manager of a restaurant in NY when the acting bug bit him and he decided that Chicago was where he would take to the stage...

Gomez spent 7 years in Chicago, starting in the box office, with the Second City comedy group (where he met his future wife Nia, also a member of the troupe) and is an alumnus of the ImprovOlympics in that same city, during his time here Gomez started to focus on the acting part of comedy and in 1996 Gomez moved from Chicago to Los Angeles to really try to get going on acting.  The big break came when he got the part of Larry on The Drew Carey Show.

He married actress/writer Nia Vardalos (September, 5, 1993 - present) and they live in Los Angeles, CA.
