Ian Roberts was born on July
31, 1965 in London, England, UK to Ray and Jean Roberts.
Former Rugby League player who
played for South Sydney Rabbitohs (debut in 1986), Manly Warringah Sea
Eagles (signed in 1990), North Queensland Cowboys (signed 1995) then retired
in 1998 after twelve years in the sport.
He attended Australia's
National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) starting in 1998 he graduated with
a degree in Performing Arts (Acting) in 2003. Roberts was one of only
26 people to be accepted into the acting course. More than 1300 people from
around the nation applied and the rollcall of famous graduates includes Mel
Gibson, Geoffrey Rush and Cate Blanchett.
Roberts lives in Sydney, Australia.
