Neil Ross

Neil Ross was born in London,
England UK and raised in Montreal, Canada until he was twelve years old.
His father was Canadian and his mother was English. Ross was raised,
interestingly enough, without a television in the house, his parents thought it
unnecessary to indulge in a set so Ross spent most of his childhood listening to
Canadian radio. In the 50's Ross and his family moved from Montreal to
Long Beach, CA where he listened to KFWB. The family moved again, this
time to San Diego, he was still able to get a static laden KFWB on the
radio. It was around this time that he was totally hooked on being a DJ.
Ross worked in radio for many
years working at near legendary status at over half a dozen radio stations in
the west and Hawaii. He felt for many of those years a dissatisfaction
with radio as the medium didn't let him explore the full potential of his
voice. It wasn't until 1969 that he found out about voice over work and by
the late 70's he was seeking to pursue the VO medium fully.
Ross moved to Los Angeles in
1978 to get established and it took him nearly seven years to get continuous
work. In 1985, after over 20 years on radio, he quit the medium
altogether, he's been working as a freelance voice over artist ever since.
He lives in Los Angeles with
his wife and daughter and is learning the martial art of Lotar
