Stephen Elliott

Stephen Elliott (born Elliott Pershing Stitzel) was born on November 27, 1920 in New York City, New York, US.  

After his first professional stage appearance in 1940 (outside of his home state and city), then served his country during World War II.  After his service ended, Elliott came back to NYC and joined Neighborhood Playhouse under the tutelage of Meisner where he was discovered by Guthrie McClintic.

Elliott died on May 21, 2005.   His second wife, actress Alice Hirson, survives him.
