Stephen J. Sansweet was born in 1945 in Philadelphia,
PA. Where he also attended Temple University, graduating with a BA in
journalism (named Outstanding Graduate in Journalism.) After graduation he
would work for the Philadelphia Inquirer as a feature writer then worked for The
Wall Street Journal as a staff reporter. In 1980 he was transferred
to the Los Angeles Bureau of The Wall Street Journal and by 1983 was named
Deputy Bureau Chief and in 1987 was named Bureau Chief. He continued to
work for the WSJ until 1996 when he was asked to join Lucasfilm.
Sansweet was made the Director of Specialty Marketing for
Lucasfilm and was later made Director of Content Management and Head of Fan
Relations, a position he currently holds.
Sansweet has written several books, over eight alone
pertaining to Star Wars.
Sansweet lives in Sonoma County, California and has the
world's largest private collection of Star Wars items.
